Where Lilac Meets Elm

Here I am

at lilac meets elm

shining silk, summer ‘s helm

breathe it in, all is well.

My chest thrums the beat

of the green canopy.

As far as eyes see

colours burst, harmony.

Toes bounce, embrace rhythm,

embodied perception.

Threads connect, fingers lace

easy breeze, renounced haste.

Peek-through sun streams,

criss-crossed branch beams,

nature sighs, dances in time,

open-armed, open-faced, now aligned.

Full-bodied ripple

goosebumps on the surface

electric, emphatic,

I’m living on purpose.

Wholly feeling all this

sensorial bliss.

Feet planted in wishes

and Mother Earth’s kisses.

Being me,

truly free,

twirling, dancing, with glee.

More alive, free to thrive

Land is balm, healing calm,

upturned palms

At lilac meets elm,

Here I am.
